"Hairspray (1)," Final Tech/Dress Rehearsals, Priscilla Beach Theatre, Priscilla Beach, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

Priscilla Beach Theatre (PBT) Owners and Guardians, Bob and Sandy Malone, recently opened their production of "Hairspray," for a fourteen performance run on the Barn Stage. And a rousing and delightful production it was! The Director was Robert W. Schneider whose work was last seen at PBT when he directed "The Drowsy Chaperone" in 2018.

The Barn Stage, a 240-seat venue, is in its 82nd season and is cited as the oldest summer stock barn theatre still operating in America. The original barn was built in 1875. The current owners, Bob and Sandy Malone, completed a modernization and renovation effort in 2014-15 and also installed new seats and new state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems at that time.

"Hairspray" - "It's 1962. In Baltimore, Maryland lives Tracy Turnblad. She has one wish; to be on the Corny Collins Show. Attaining this goal makes Tracy an overnight star plus sets a series of events in motion to integrate a TV network. A musical masterpiece!" (Source: PBT)

The following images were captured live during a dress rehearsal and are in order of occurrence in the show. Many images are similar since an individual actor may look better in one image than the other and some actors will use these images to share with family, friends, and/or, to build their resumes. Cast members hail from many parts of the country and bring their extraordinary talents to this venerable theatre, some as first-timers, and some have performed here before.

Note: Many of these theatre images, when viewed on a small screen cellphone, may present over-saturated colors. More normal views can be achieved when viewing on a larger laptop or desktop screen.
